ET Foundation demonstrated its ongoing commitment to health philanthropy by donating much-needed medical equipment, supplies, and accessories to the FDRE Ministry of Health on November 5, 2024. Ethiopian Airlines’ Group CEO, Mr. Mesfin Tasew, formally handed over the donation to H.E. Dr. Mekdes Daba, Minister of Health. The donation, a shipment weighing 11.5 tons and valued at over 100,000 Euros, will help bolster the health sector.
The medical equipment was donated to ET Foundation by Aviation Sans Frontières, in collaboration with Airbus. The shipment was delivered aboard Ethiopian Airlines’ newest aircraft, the Airbus A350-1000, which touched down on African soil for the first time on November 5, 2024, marking a historic milestone for both the airline and the country, and the continent at large.
In addition to its support for health, ET Foundation has also made significant strides in education, continuing its long-standing commitment on educational philanthropic activities. The Foundation recently donated 10,000 exercise books (valued at 500,000 Birr) to elementary schools in the southern region. This follows the previous donation of 60,000 exercise books, worth 6.5 million Birr, to a school located at Koye Feche. These efforts underscore the ET Foundation’s dedication to making a positive impact in both health and education as part of its broader corporate social responsibility.
