Who we are

Ethiopian Airlines has been extensively concerned with social activities since its formation in 1946 as a socially responsible corporate organization. With its development and growth, Ethiopian Airlines Group (ETG), established an independent charity wing known as Ethiopian Airlines Foundation, with the objective of meeting its social and philanthropic goals in a strategic manner through charitable programs and contributions obtained from its employees and other several donors.

Following the formation of ETG Foundation, all charitable activities are channeled to it for the required corporate social responsibilities to be carried out. The foundation is engaged in community development activities by supporting underprivileged members of the society through registered and accredited non-governmental organizations all over Ethiopia.

Currently, Ethiopian through ETG foundation, has exhibited the implementation of its social responsibility in health philanthropy by granting travel tickets to patients whose cases have been attested by medical boards to obtain treatment overseas. Donation of food items, kitchen wares, and firewood to feeding centers in Addis Ababa and nearby towns is also an ongoing activity that the foundation carries out.

In addition, Ethiopian engages in charitable work by transporting medical equipment for several hospitals and organizations in the country.

Registered by the government in 2016, Ethiopian Airlines Foundation has been involved in charity and donation activities in a much organized and integrated manner. The foundation has been providing support to a wide range of people in need in the community for the past six years.
